U14 NORTHAMPTON REBELS - Fall 07

1) Named partly after the Shays Rebellion that was held here in our town.
Northampton was the site of the famous Shay’s Rebellion, a crisis point in early post-revolutionary America.

2)partial meaning: oppose by force as we will oppose any team we play with great energy and determination.

3) and because I figure you are teenagers now who by nature rebel against your parents during this stage of your lives - smile....

Welcome new players and returning members of the U14 team.

Season Opens August 25th

We will have our 1st team meeting in mid August. At that time the new team
name will be announced. Practices will most likely also start in mid August.

We will also be playing the Labor Day Soccer Tournament in Agawam

Sat Sept 1 Tournament day
Sun Sept 2 Tournament day
Mon Sept 3 Playoffs.

To returning players:
Please work on the aspects of your game that need improvement. That would be the
skills I discussed with you on try-out day - the skills I told you that you need to work
on over the summer.

Beckham fouled a player and got thrown out out of the game. Outnumbered by Argentina, England lost the game (at least that's what they attribute their loss to), and Beckham's nation was unforgiving, to say the least. He talks about this and how to get over
difficult times.

Therefore ALL players will have to go down to Western Village Ski and Sports on Main Street in Downtown Northampton (ask for Paul) and

get fitted for NEW shorts regardless of whether your current shorts fit you or not.
These NEW shorts will be the clubs standard uniform along with our current Shirts and they are different from the current shorts we have now.

Current Players: Make sure you go down and get fitted for the new shorts.
Western Village will NOT order you a pair of shorts unless you go into the store and get fitted properly.
You will not need a new shirt (unless you need a new size)

New Players: You will need both New Shorts and of course a New Shirt. You too will need to get fitted for both.

I will be ordering NEW socks for everyone so you will not have to purchases socks from Western Village.
I will contact you when I have the socks in hand.

You can go get fitted now through July 31st. July 31st is the last day they will take orders.
